We are pleased to inform you that the Act on Regulating the Status of Students (ZUPŠ-2) has been adopted and will introduce great improvements to the subsidised student meal system as of 19th December 2025.

Starting from 19th December 2025, you will receive:

• a higher meal subsidy (5,05 EUR) – which means lower extra payments at the providers

• more meal subsidies per month – for every day of the month (not just working days)

• extended subsidy usage time from 7:00 to 00:00 – meaning you can use your subsidies until midnight

In this academic year, we have prepared a great new feature for you again.

All users who are already in the subsidized student meals system (SŠP) and already have, or will have by the end of September, an active student status for the academic year 2025/26, do not need to extend their rights for the upcoming year, as they will be renewed AUTOMATICALLY.

This means that visiting an SŠP point is not necessary, nor do you need to extend the rights in the application.

For students enrolling in the SŠP system for the first time, the initial visit to an SŠP point is still required.

Some Subsidized Student Meals offices will allow early enrollment in the Subsidized Student Meals system for the academic year 2025/2026 as early as September. If you are already enrolled at an educational institution, it is advisable to use the opportunity and enroll in the system as soon as possible before the lines and crowds form in front of the offices. Furthermore, early enrollment will be possible at selected
student clubs across Slovenia and not just in university towns. Additional information about opening hours of the Subsidized Student Meals offices is available at https://www.studentska-prehrana.si/ under the SŠP Points tab.

2. For students who are already in the Subsidized Student Meals system, the right to subsidized student meals, for the academic year 2025/2026, will be automatically extended.

In order to avoid unnecessary queues and crowds we encourage you to enroll in the system for the new academic year as soon as possible.
